My BFF and balls...

Logan heard something on the television talking about BFF's. Here's how his conversation with me and Ryan went.
Logan: I don't really know who my BFF is.
Mom: It's probably Hunter or Theo.
Logan: It could be Skylon or Theo or Hunter, but it's probably really you or Dad.

He was serious. Not trying to get somthing. I need to remind him of this when he's 16 and refuses to answer my text or whatever kind of telepathic message we are sending in 8 years.

Caden was sick the other night (his nose was a tiny bit stuffy, so that means he can't sleep). He was sitting on my lap in the rocking chair and I was half asleep, wishing he was all the way asleep, when he said out of the blue, "Mom scrotums have two little balls in them." I just looked at him. He just nodded at me and said, "Yeah." and went right back to watching Scooby Doo. He's going to be a urologist. I just know it.

Where Have We Been??

The answer...nowhere and everywhere.
I'm just catching this up from the summer. I spent much of it studying for a test. I still haven't been told if I passed...December. This slide show has a fun Wright Reunion at Pineview, Caden turned 3 and other stuff.

Spring Has Sprung

God made worms and potato bugs for little boys. Over the last few weeks we have really annoyed a few of these creatures for Caden and Logan's entertainment. Logan is a little nicer to them than Caden is, but he means well. Logan took a hint from a strange Scooby Doo movie and made his worms a fun amusement park/Day Spa in the Garden. Caden just carried his around in his hot little hands or put them in his pocket. Gross!!

One day, after I found a few worms for Caden, he rolled them into a little dead worm ball and asked me to play catch. I sent him to his father to play dead worm ball catch and forgot about the worms. A few minutes later, Caden returned to me, sat on my lap and hugged me. He also rubbed his hand on my neck. I asked him why he was rubbing my neck. His reply, "I'm just rolling my worm ball on your neck." Gag!!

Anyway...we planted a garden of tomatoes, lettuce, squash and peas. I can't wait for the tomatoes.

Spring Break

We went to Disneyland with 53,000 of our closest friends. It was a madhouse. Logan had fun on Space Mountain. Caden really like Autopia. Shockingly, Caden was a little afraid on Buzz Lightyear. It was a good learing experience. We will only go to Disneyland in the off season.

The Aquarium

We love to go to the Aquarium. Their new exhibit is pretty cool.

Carlos Dunford Day at Costco

What??? You may be saying why did Costco have Carlos Dunford Day? Well, Carlos loved to go to Costco and buy things in large quantities and wander the store. This "hobby" was mentioned in his obituary and on his funeral program. Someone sent this to the CEO of Costco, Jim Senegal, who sent Judy a letter offering to have lunch for family and friends. Costco was great. There was pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, and cake. Logan drew a picture of Carlos on the paper covered table before we left. It read, "Thank you Cosco". Carlos would have been happy and possibly a little embarassed that we were wise to his strange hobby.

The Funeral

I rained and rained on us at the Salt Lake City Cemetery on the day of Carlos' funeral. I wanted was looking at the pictures and remembered something that Logan did. I decided to post about it because this is a close to a journal as I have.
We were nearly the last people to leave the cemetery. Ryan's mom was driving with us. As we headed back to the car to leave, Logan turned around and ran back to Carlos' grave. I didn't know what he was doing, but I just waited. He took a yellow rose from one of the arrangements and took it to Derek's headstone. He set it down on the headstone, stood and looked at it for a moment and then walked to the car with me.
Caden was a good kid for Aunt Carlie and Uncle Steve. She had 3 two year olds all day long.

Carlos Bitner Dunford

Ryan's dad passed away on Sunday, January 18th. He died of complications related to Congestive Heart Failure. He really had a rough year in 2008 and had been on Hospice for a few weeks. Logan was a little sad, but he handled it all very well. Caden thinks that we left Grandpa at the new church (the mortuary) and when we went to the viewing all he could say is that, "his head is dead." I heard so many people make comments about how different the body is without it's spirit, I think this was Caden's way of expressing that same thing. Caden also wanted to know where Grandpa's legs were. The funeral director did a great job talking to the kids about death and showed them where Grandpa's legs were. He was asking all the grandchildren who was in heaven with Grandpa. Some replied Jesus, and God. Caden said that the Power Rangers were in heaven with Grandpa. Now he has the energy to play with them.
The poem on the cover of the program for his funeral contains a poem that was written by his grandmother when he went on his mission. It was really cool that they were able to find it.
